The State is expected to add further charges against businessman Suliman Carrim when he appears alongside his two co-accused in the Musina Magistrates' Court in Limpopo on Friday.
The additional charges relate to the alleged unlawful employment of foreign nationals whose immigration status does not permit them to work in South Africa.
The charges concern Carrim's two employees, Musa Phiri and Zakes Ibrahim, who were arrested at the Beitbridge Border Post in July while travelling to Malawi.
The matter was previously postponed to Friday to allow Phiri and Ibrahim to be formally joined to the case as co-accused.
Carrim has been linked to the two men through his company, after they were allegedly found driving vehicles destined for Malawi.
The three accused are alleged to have attempted to steal two vehicles using fraudulent documentation.
Meanwhile, the defence has indicated that Phiri intends to enter into a guilty plea agreement.
Friday's court appearance will mark the first time Carrim and his two employees appear together in the dock.
