The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has received more than one million applications for the 2027 funding cycle, with the application deadline set for October 31, 2026.
NSFAS has confirmed that there will be no extension and has urged prospective applicants to submit their applications before the closing date.
The scheme has warned applicants against waiting until the last minute, saying this could lead to challenges that may prevent their applications from being submitted on time.
Applications can be submitted through the official NSFAS website or the NSFAS mobile application.
In a statement, the scheme said applicants who are required to provide supporting documents must upload them through the official application platform.
It cautioned that missing documents, incomplete information or incorrect details could affect the verification and processing of applications.
Meanwhile, the NSFAS Board will take part in the final-push outreach programme aimed at encouraging eligible students to apply for financial assistance before the deadline.
The initiative forms part of efforts to ensure that qualifying students have access to funding opportunities for the 2027 academic year.
NSFAS has reiterated the importance of submitting complete and accurate applications within the stipulated period to avoid delays in processing.
