The March and March movement has vowed to return to the Department of Home Affairs offices in Gqeberha on Tuesday, amid ongoing tensions over immigration.

The group is demanding that Home Affairs stop providing services to foreign nationals and insists that undocumented immigrants should leave the country.

However, some foreign nationals say they are being harassed and intimidated by the protest movement.

A Somali national who visited the offices on Monday says the group’s actions have left foreign nationals feeling threatened.

Security has been increased following clashes last week, with police and other law enforcement officials monitoring the situation.

March and March says it is frustrated that the offices continue to serve foreign nationals. The movement claims a national decision was taken to suspend asylum applications and alleges that its concerns are being ignored.

Meanwhile, activists have cautioned that frustration over immigration should not result in intimidation or violence against people based on their nationality.
