Police have discovered the body of another woman in Dawn Park, Ekurhuleni, bringing the number of women found dead across the metro over the past two months to nine.
The woman's body was discovered on the side of the road on Thursday morning. She was found partially clothed and wrapped in a sheet.
Investigators are working to identify the woman and establish the circumstances surrounding her death.
The latest discovery follows the deaths of eight other women whose bodies have been found in different parts of Ekurhuleni in recent weeks.
Among the victims is 38-year-old jogger Elizabeth “Tsontso” Moselakgomo, who went missing last week after leaving her home for an afternoon run.
Her body was discovered on Saturday, 12 September.
The South African Police Service has assembled a multidisciplinary team to investigate the deaths and determine whether there are any links between the cases.
Police investigations are ongoing.
This is a developing story.
