President Cyril Ramaphosa has arrived in New Delhi, India, ahead of the 18th BRICS Summit, which will take place from Saturday to Sunday.
The summit is being hosted under India’s chairmanship and will focus on the theme, “Building for Resilience, Innovation, Co-operation and Security.”
Ramaphosa is expected to address the BRICS Business Forum on Friday, where he will highlight key areas including trade, supply chains, agriculture, women-led development, the digital economy and innovation.
The President will also participate in the India-South Africa Business Leadership Roundtable.
The engagement aims to strengthen trade and investment ties between the two countries, with discussions expected to focus on sectors including pharmaceuticals, infrastructure development, critical minerals and electric vehicle battery manufacturing.
Ramaphosa’s participation is expected to further South Africa’s economic and trade interests within the BRICS partnership while strengthening bilateral relations with India.
