The N3 Toll Concession (N3TC) has urged motorists to avoid sharing unverified reports about road closures amid freezing conditions and severe winter weather in KwaZulu-Natal.
The province has been experiencing a cold front since Sunday night, bringing heavy rain and snowfall to several areas and creating difficult driving conditions.
Despite the adverse weather, N3TC says the N3 national route remains open between Cedara in KwaZulu-Natal and Heidelberg in Gauteng.
The concessionaire acknowledges that motorists may encounter challenging conditions along certain sections of the route but says there has been no official closure of the N3.
N3TC has warned motorists against relying on social media posts and other unverified reports regarding the status of the route.
The concession says any official announcements relating to road closures, restrictions or significant traffic disruptions will be issued directly through N3TC's official communication channels.
Motorists travelling along the N3 are urged to drive cautiously, particularly in areas affected by snow, rain, fog and icy conditions, and to monitor official updates before and during their journeys.
