One person has died and three others are recovering in hospital following a collision involving two vehicles on the N2 in Durban.
ALS Paramedics were called to the scene on Tuesday night, shortly after the M7 Edwin Swales Drive turn-off, following the crash.
Several people were injured in the collision.
ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson says a man believed to be in his 30s was found with critical injuries after being seated in the rear of one of the vehicles.
Paramedics attempted to assist him, but he was declared dead at the scene.
“Unfortunately, there was nothing paramedics could do for him, and he was declared deceased on the scene,” Jamieson said.
Three other occupants from the two vehicles sustained injuries of varying severity.
They were stabilised at the scene before being transported to hospitals across Durban for further medical treatment.
The circumstances surrounding the crash are not yet known, and authorities are expected to investigate the cause of the collision.
