Four Shot Dead in Walmer Informal Settlement as Police Launch Murder Investigation

Police in Gqeberha have opened a murder investigation after four people were found shot dead at a residence in the Solomon Mahlangu Informal Settlement in Walmer, Eastern Cape, on Monday.

According to police spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg, the victims two men and two women were all adults and sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the head. They were declared dead at the scene.

Preliminary findings suggest that one male and one female were discovered lying next to each other in the sitting room, while the remaining male and female were found on a bed in a bedroom.

The motive for the killings is currently unknown, and no arrests have been made.

Police have appealed to members of the public to come forward with any information that may assist in identifying the suspects and advancing the investigation.
