The Department of Human Settlements says three undocumented foreign nationals were arrested in Quarry Heights on Thursday for allegedly illegally occupying an RDP house.
According to officials, six additional foreign nationals were also found living at the property and are alleged to have been unlawfully renting out the government-subsidised house.
Authorities further revealed that several questionable passports and South African identity documents were discovered during the operation.
Investigations are now underway to determine the authenticity of the documents and whether fraud or identity-related offences may have been committed.
The department said law enforcement agencies are continuing with inquiries into the matter.
