Motorists travelling on the N2 eastbound between Palmview and the Gateway/Phoenix offramp are experiencing significant traffic congestion due to ongoing roadworks in the area.
Traffic is heavily backed up from the Palmview traffic lights, with delays extending to just before the Mount Edgecombe and Phoenix offramp.
The congestion was reported at approximately 11:12am on Thursday, 22 May 2026.
Motorists are being urged to expect delays, consider alternative routes where possible, and exercise caution while travelling through the affected area.
Authorities have also appealed to drivers to remain patient and adhere to road safety regulations as traffic continues to build.
