Mahikeng activist and traditional healer Thato Molosankwe has been shot and killed in what police say was a targeted attack at his home in Lomanyaneng on Wednesday morning.

According to police, Molosankwe was ambushed at his residence and sustained multiple gunshot wounds during the incident. He was declared dead at the scene.

Acting National Commissioner Puleng Dimpane has strongly condemned the killing, saying maximum resources have been deployed to track down those responsible. She assured the public that investigators will leave “no stone unturned” in bringing the perpetrators to justice.

Police described Molosankwe as a community-focused figure who worked closely with law enforcement in efforts to combat crime and corruption. He was also credited with helping to strengthen relations between residents and the South African Police Service (SAPS).

Authorities say investigations are under way, and the motive for the attack remains unclear.

This is a developing story.
