The ActionSA says it will lay criminal charges against President Cyril Ramaphosa on Wednesday, relating to fresh allegations linked to the Phala Phala farm controversy.
The party says the charges will include alleged violations of the Prevention and Combating of Corrupt Activities Act, perjury, fraud, and making false statements to police.
ActionSA claims the move follows recent media reports suggesting discrepancies in the amount of foreign currency stolen during the 2020 incident at Ramaphosa’s Phala Phala farm in Limpopo.
According to the reports, the amount allegedly taken was around R15 million, rather than the previously disclosed R10 million.
In a statement, the party said it remained committed to ensuring accountability at the highest level of government.
“We will continue pursuing accountability through all available constitutional mechanisms to ensure that no one, including the President, is above the law,” ActionSA said.
The Presidency has not yet publicly responded to the latest allegations.
