Gauteng police have launched an investigation into a triple murder at a fast food outlet in the Johannesburg Central Business District, where three men were shot and killed on Monday morning.
The victims were reportedly having breakfast when unknown gunmen opened fire. All three men were declared dead at the scene.
Gauteng police spokesperson Noxolo Kweza confirmed that the motive for the attack remains unclear, with suspects still at large.
“The suspects were wearing masks. The victims were certified dead on the scene,” Kweza said.
Gauteng Provincial Commissioner Tommy Mthombeni has condemned the killings, describing them as senseless.
Kweza added that authorities are committed to ensuring those responsible are brought to justice.
“The Provincial Commissioner has emphasised that no stone will be left unturned in the investigation,” she said.
Police have appealed to members of the public to come forward with any information that may assist in tracking down the suspects.
