Four people, including a 13-year-old child, have been shot dead in Delft on the Cape Flats in Cape Town, in what police believe is a gang-related attack.
Western Cape police spokesperson Andre Traut said officers responded to a shooting at a property in Zandkloof Street on Wednesday, where the bodies of four victims—aged 13, 28, 40 and 41—were discovered inside a granny flat.
“All four sustained gunshot wounds to the head in what appears to be an execution-style killing,” Traut said.
According to preliminary information, two unidentified male suspects entered the dwelling on foot, opened fire, and fled the scene shortly afterwards.
Police believe the motive may be gang-related. The case is being investigated by the Anti-Gang Unit, with efforts underway to track down and arrest those responsible.
Authorities have urged anyone with information to come forward as investigations continue.
