A police colonel attached to the Western Cape Protection and Security Services is expected to appear in the Wynberg Magistrate’s Court on charges of rape and sexual assault.
The officer was arrested on Tuesday by the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) following allegations that he sexually assaulted and raped a female subordinate in May 2025.
He is currently being held in the Wynberg police holding cells ahead of his first court appearance.
Authorities have not yet provided further details, and investigations into the matter are ongoing.
