A fourth suspect is expected to appear in court in connection with the murder of an e-hailing driver in Pretoria West, as police continue their investigation into the fatal hijacking.

The suspect was arrested on Monday, the same day three other accused made their first appearance in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court. The trio abandoned their bail application during proceedings.

The victim, 22-year-old Nigerian national Isaac Satlat, was killed during a hijacking last week. The incident was recorded on his dashboard camera, footage that has since become a key part of the investigation.

According to South African Police Service spokesperson Mavela Masondo, the fourth suspect voluntarily handed himself over to authorities.

“Like the other three suspects, he is facing charges of hijacking and murder,” Masondo said.

The case against the three co-accused Dikeledi Mphela, Goitseone Machidi and McClaren Mushwana has been postponed to next Monday to allow for further investigations.

All four suspects are expected to face formal charges as the matter proceeds, with police working to piece together the events leading up to the deadly attack.
