Scholar transport services are expected to fully resume across Gauteng on Monday morning, bringing relief to thousands of pupils and parents affected by recent disruptions.

The Gauteng Small Bus Operators Council (GASBOC) confirmed that outstanding payments owed to operators by the Gauteng Department of Education have now been settled.

With the financial issues addressed, operators are racing to prepare vehicles for service, pay drivers and complete the necessary compliance and safety checks ahead of the restart.

GASBOC said it remains committed to ensuring learners are transported safely and reliably to and from school, adding that all measures are being taken to ensure operations run smoothly.

The resumption is expected to restore normality for families who rely on the service daily just in time for the school week to get back on track.
