The South African National Roads Agency (SANRAL) has announced a temporary full closure of a section of the N3 highway to allow for luminance testing.
According to SANRAL, the N3 will be closed to all traffic between the Armitage Road interchange near Midlands Mall and the Cedara interchange from Wednesday, 28 January 2026 at 20:00 until Thursday, 29 January 2026 at 04:30.
Motorists have been advised to plan their journeys accordingly and to use alternative routes during the closure. SANRAL has apologised for the inconvenience and says the testing is necessary to ensure road safety and compliance with standards.
