A 32-year-old woman was brutally assaulted and killed, allegedly by her boyfriend, in the Tea Estate area of Inanda, KwaZulu-Natal, on Monday.

According to Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA), witnesses contacted their Operations Centre at around 12:21, reporting the attack and requesting urgent assistance. Reaction Officers and paramedics were immediately dispatched to the scene.

Upon arrival, officers found the woman lying in the middle of an unpaved road. Paramedics confirmed she had sustained severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses told RUSA that the couple had been walking together when the male allegedly began verbally abusing the woman. The situation escalated, and he reportedly continued to assault her even after she fell to the ground, striking her on the head with an object concealed inside a black refuse bag.

Members of the public attempted to intervene, prompting the suspect to flee on foot into nearby dense vegetation. Reaction Officers conducted an extensive search of the area, but no arrests have been made.

The motive for the attack remains under investigation. Authorities have urged anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
