The Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) in KwaZulu-Natal has strongly condemned what it describes as vile and dangerous death threats directed at Premier Thami Ntuli, warning that the messages circulating online amount to serious criminal conduct.
In a statement, the party said the threats are being shared openly on social media, with some posts explicitly calling for the Premier’s death.
The IFP said the situation is deeply troubling and has called for urgent action to identify those responsible.
“The threats are criminal in nature and must be treated with the seriousness they deserve,” the party said.
The condemnation comes at a time when the province’s coalition government has been receiving national praise after KwaZulu-Natal achieved first place in the country’s matric results, a development the IFP says makes the timing of the threats even more disturbing.
The party has urged law enforcement agencies to investigate the matter thoroughly and ensure that those responsible are held accountable.
