Police have launched a manhunt for suspects following the bombing of a cash-in-transit vehicle in Durban.
The incident occurred on Sunday while the cash van was travelling northbound on the N2, on top of the M7 bridge, where security guards were ambushed by an unknown number of suspects.
ALS Paramedic Garrith Jamieson says emergency services rushed to the scene, which was marked by chaos. “Paramedics arrived to find the cash-in-transit vehicle had been blown up. The two security officers were assessed on scene and, fortunately, sustained no injuries,” Jamieson said.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
