Thirteen teenagers were injured on Tuesday morning when a minibus taxi overturned on the N3 near Cato Ridge in KwaZulu-Natal.
The driver is believed to have lost control of the vehicle, causing it to roll and come to rest on its side.
Garrith Jamieson, spokesperson for a private ambulance service, said paramedics arrived to a chaotic scene.
“Paramedics found a single taxi, fully loaded with teenagers, that had overturned. Thirteen passengers sustained various injuries, and once stabilised on scene, they were transported to several Pietermaritzburg hospitals for further care,” Jamieson said.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash.
