Two suspected drug dealers saw their travel abruptly cut short on Tuesday when the Hawks intercepted their e-hailing vehicle in Ballito, acting on intelligence about a planned drug delivery on KwaZulu-Natal’s north coast.
According to Hawks spokesperson Sibu Ncane, officers allegedly discovered drugs concealed inside the vehicle during the operation. One of the suspects then led investigators to a supplier’s home in Groutville, where heroin and drug paraphernalia worth an estimated R190,000 were seized.
Both men were arrested and charged with dealing in drugs. Ncane added that a Toyota Urban Cruiser, believed to have been used to transport the narcotics, was also confiscated.
The suspects are expected to appear separately in the KwaDukuza and Durban Magistrate’s Courts on Thursday.
