A KwaZulu-Natal farmer accused of killing three young women in a drunk driving incident will learn his fate next month.

Martin Rolf Kassier, 31, appeared in the New Hanover Magistrate’s Court on Thursday. He faces three counts of culpable homicide and one count of driving under the influence of alcohol.

According to police, Kassier was intoxicated at the time of the crash, which occurred in the Dalton area in February.

KwaZulu-Natal National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Natasha Ramkisson-Kara confirmed the matter has been postponed.

"The accused appeared in court, and the case was postponed to 29 July 2025 for the regional court’s decision,” she said.

The incident sparked outrage in the community, with calls for stricter action against drunk driving offenders.
