A 37-year-old foreign national has been arrested after being caught in possession of drugs valued at more than R10 million during a high-stakes police operation in Quarry Heights, Durban.
KwaZulu-Natal police carried out the raid yesterday following an intelligence-driven tip-off about the suspect allegedly dealing in drugs from the property. Officers swooped in and discovered a significant stash of narcotics.
Further investigations led police to a second location on Caters Street, where additional quantities of heroin, crystal meth, and cocaine were seized.
Authorities also recovered an illegal firearm and 47 rounds of ammunition during the operation.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Durban Magistrate’s Court soon, where he will face charges of dealing in drugs and unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.
