Eskom Launches AI Chatbot ‘Alfred’ to Streamline Customer Service

Eskom has unveiled its latest digital innovation: an AI-powered chatbot named Alfred, now available on WhatsApp, designed to improve customer service and speed up the reporting of electrical faults.

According to Eskom, Alfred offers a quick, efficient, and secure platform for customers to report issues around the clock. To access the service, users must provide their Eskom account and meter numbers. Once a fault is reported, Alfred immediately generates a reference number, allowing users to track the status of their issue in real time.

"Alfred is built to enhance customer interaction while upholding safety and efficiency through online engagement," the power utility said in a statement.

Customers can use the service by visiting https://alfred.eskom.co.za/chatroom/ or sending a message to 0860 037 566 on WhatsApp.

Eskom urges customers to ensure they provide accurate details when logging complaints to help resolve issues more effectively.
