A devastating collision between a minibus taxi and a truck has claimed the lives of four people, including three children, near Worcester in the Boland region on Friday morning.
The fatal accident occurred on the R60 at Overhex Crossing at approximately 06:25, according to Western Cape Mobility Department spokesperson Muneera Allie.
“All emergency teams are currently on site attending to the scene. The road has been closed, and motorists are urged to use alternative routes,” Allie confirmed.
In addition to the four fatalities, four other individuals sustained serious injuries and were rushed to nearby medical facilities for treatment.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash as emergency services continue to clear the scene and support affected families.
