Two men accused of the brutal kidnapping, rape, and murder of 43-year-old Motlalepule Kau are expected to appear in the Ganyesa Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, 29 April 2025.

The suspects were arrested on Saturday after police made a grim discovery — Kau’s body was found buried in a shallow grave in the bush between Tlakgameng and Kudunkgwane villages.

Kau had been reported missing just days earlier, on Wednesday, at the Mahikeng Police Station. Her remains were found the following day, prompting an intensive investigation that led to the swift arrest of the alleged perpetrators.

North West Police spokesperson Brigadier Sabata Mokgwabone confirmed the arrests, stating: “The suspects were apprehended in Tlakgameng Village near Ganyesa. They face charges of kidnapping, rape, and murder.”

Police investigations continue as the community grapples with shock and outrage over the violent crime.
