The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued a warning for severe thunderstorms across Gauteng, Mpumalanga, and Limpopo. The warning, which highlights the possibility of intense thunderstorms, predicts heavy rainfall, strong winds, and excessive lightning in the affected regions.

Residents can expect scattered showers and thunderstorms, with the potential for localized flooding on vulnerable roads, low-lying areas, bridges, and settlements. These downpours may also cause damage to infrastructure, including roofs of informal houses and structures. Additionally, power disruptions are possible due to power surges triggered by the storm.

Authorities urge the public to take necessary precautions, particularly in areas prone to flooding, and to stay updated with further weather alerts.
