The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) and Postbank have reassured social grant beneficiaries that the replacement of SASSA gold cards with Postbank black cards will continue beyond 20 March 2025.
While SASSA gold cards will no longer be functional after today, beneficiaries who have not yet switched to Postbank black cards can still do so at designated retail outlets, including Shoprite, Checkers, Usave, Pick n Pay, Boxer, and Spar. Beneficiaries can also dial *120*355# to locate nearby replacement sites.
SASSA has assured beneficiaries that they will still receive their grants even if they have not yet transitioned to a Postbank black card. In such cases, payments will be processed through alternative methods at Post Office counters.
Beneficiaries are encouraged to replace their cards as soon as possible to avoid disruptions in accessing their grants.
