Starting April 1, public hospital fees will see a significant hike, with most services set to increase by more than 4 percent. Emergency services, including ambulance and paramedic services, will experience a steep rise of 30 percent.
According to Health Department spokesperson Foster Mohale, nearly 86 percent of the country's population relies on public healthcare services, making the fee adjustments particularly impactful for a large portion of the population.
These increases come as part of efforts to sustain public healthcare services, though the rise in fees may place additional strain on individuals already dependent on state-run medical care.
