The Gauteng government hopes that President Cyril Ramaphosa’s visit to the province today will help emphasize its 13 key priorities, which include tackling crime, job creation, and infrastructure development.

Ramaphosa is scheduled to meet with the Gauteng government leadership as part of a broader effort to strengthen intergovernmental coordination and improve service delivery. The visit aligns with the priorities set by the seventh administration.

The president will be accompanied by ministers and their deputies during the engagements.

Provincial government spokesperson Vuyo Mhaga expressed optimism about the visit, noting its significance following Ramaphosa’s recent trip to Mpumalanga.

“We are pleased that the president is visiting us, especially after our State of the Province Address, where Premier Panyaza Lesufi outlined 13 key issues, including the critical matter of water,” said Mhaga.

He added that discussions would focus on infrastructure challenges affecting the province, as well as securing national support for investment and job creation efforts.

“We are hoping to engage on how we can work with the national government to assist municipalities and drive economic growth in Gauteng,” he said.

The visit is expected to provide a platform for addressing pressing provincial concerns and fostering collaboration between different spheres of government.
