Retail giant Shoprite is set to roll out its popular Sixty60 on-demand grocery delivery service at select stores later this month, following its success at Checkers. The move aims to extend the convenience of home delivery to lower-income customers.
The retailer confirmed that Sixty60 will launch in 19 Shoprite stores across eight provinces after a successful pilot in Gauteng and the Western Cape. The expansion will be phased to ensure each new location upholds the service’s reputation for efficiency and reliability.
The service is already operational at Shoprite’s Atlantis store in the Western Cape and the Jabulani store in Soweto, Gauteng.
Neil Schreuder, Shoprite’s chief of strategy and innovation, highlighted the potential impact of the expansion. “Sixty60 can make a meaningful difference for consumers who need the convenience of home delivery, where logistics allow for a seamless experience,” he said.
Sixty60 first launched at Checkers in 2019 and has since gained widespread popularity, particularly among middle- to upper-income shoppers. The latest expansion signals Shoprite’s commitment to making on-demand grocery delivery accessible to a broader market.
