A bus transporting American tourists to the Kruger National Park overturned on the road between Dullstroom and Lydenburg yesterday, marking one of six crashes reported in the province over the past two days.

According to Provincial Safety, Security and Liaison spokesperson Moeti Mmusi, 18 tourists were injured in the crash, with 17 requiring hospitalization in Belfast. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the accident.

The province has been experiencing persistent rainfall since Monday, prompting officials to urge motorists to exercise caution on wet roads. Communities in low-lying areas have also been advised to remain vigilant as weather conditions remain unpredictable.

Among the recent accidents under investigation are two crashes involving schoolchildren being transported to school. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation as road conditions continue to deteriorate.
