Police have arrested two men in connection with the torching of 51 Putco buses in a series of arson attacks on Monday.
An armed gang is suspected of carrying out coordinated attacks at multiple depots, where company employees were assaulted and shot.
Provincial police spokesperson Donald Mdhluli confirmed the arrests, stating that one of the suspects was found in possession of a mobile phone believed to belong to a victim.
"During the arrest, one suspect was found with a mobile phone suspected to be linked to a victim, as well as a magazine for a 9mm pistol, though no ammunition was recovered," Mdhluli said.
Authorities are continuing their search for more suspects as investigations progress.
