Motorists could face a tough start to February, with significant fuel price increases expected as the month begins.
Latest data from the Central Energy Fund indicates that diesel prices may rise by over R1 per litre, while petrol could increase by approximately 90 cents per litre. The cost of illuminating paraffin is also nearing a R1 per litre hike.
The surge in fuel prices is primarily driven by a weaker rand and rising global oil prices.
While the official announcement is still pending, the new fuel rates are set to take effect on Wednesday, 5 February.
