Residents in and around Chatsworth have expressed frustration over the lack of proper water supply since October 2024, with the issue affecting several areas, including Shallcross, Malvern, Queensburgh, Klaarwater, Savannah Park, Crossmoor, and parts of Arena Park.

Community member Naseema Osman highlighted the severity of the water outages, particularly in Ward 17, and described the situation as "very badly affected." Over the weekend, frustrated residents gathered for a placard demonstration at the Mobeni cemetery to demand answers and action from the municipality.

Osman shared that despite multiple efforts to engage with the local authorities, the city has failed to provide a clear explanation for the ongoing outages. "We don't seem to be getting any answers from the department itself," she said. In November 2024, residents formed an alliance with the DA and called an urgent meeting for five wards in Chatsworth, but Osman claims they have not received any updates since December.

eThekwini Municipality has been contacted for comment on the matter.
