A group of unemployed doctors in KwaZulu-Natal is set to march from the UNISA Pietermaritzburg campus today to raise awareness about their struggles and demand immediate government action.

The protest comes amid growing concerns over the state's failure to employ qualified doctors, with over 1,500 professionals currently without jobs in South Africa.

Dr. Mxolisi Xulu, one of the march's conveners, expressed frustration with the government's response, citing recent remarks from the Minister of Health stating that the government does not owe these doctors employment. He emphasized that the doctors had trained locally and were committed to serving their communities, stating, "We are not leaving; we are here to save our communities."

The march aims to highlight the urgent need for government intervention to address the employment crisis and provide meaningful opportunities for these healthcare professionals.
