The bail application for 12 suspects accused of brutally hacking five people to death in Inanda, Durban, earlier this month is set to take place today at the Ntuzuma Magistrate’s Court.
The suspects were arrested just hours after the five bodies were discovered dumped at a local sports field. Their arrests have since sparked widespread protests, with community members demanding their release.
Some residents argue that the accused were acting in defense of the community against alleged criminal elements and should not be held accountable.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation as tensions remain high in the area.
