KwaZulu-Natal Premier Thami Ntuli has urged men to seek assistance rather than resort to violence when facing domestic challenges, following the tragic murder of a woman on the province's south coast. The incident, which occurred earlier this week, saw Nontobeko Cele fatally stabbed in uMzinto.

Cele's boyfriend, Sibusiso Lawrence, allegedly confessed to the crime in a disturbing social media post, where he shared graphic images of her body. The post was widely circulated before the KZN police confirmed the discovery of Lawrence’s body on Wednesday, after he reportedly took his own life near the scene of the murder.

Premier Ntuli condemned the act as "a grave injustice and a blatant violation of human dignity and morality." In a statement, Ntuli's spokesperson, Bongani Gina, expressed the premier's heartfelt condolences to Cele’s family and reaffirmed the provincial government’s ongoing commitment to combating gender-based violence and building a society free from such atrocities.
