uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Secretary-General, Floyd Shivambu, has announced plans to establish provincial offices in KwaZulu-Natal and Limpopo as part of the party's expansion strategy. Speaking at the party's gala dinner on Monday evening, Shivambu acknowledged that while resources remain a challenge, there is significant room for growth.
The announcement follows the MK Party’s one-year anniversary celebrations held in Durban over the weekend. Shivambu emphasized the importance of setting up fully staffed and accessible offices to facilitate interaction with the public. "All those offices should have staff members and must be accessible. We must interact with people from time to time," he stated.
Shivambu also addressed criticism regarding his decision to leave the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF), a party he had been part of for over a decade. He compared his departure to former President Jacob Zuma’s bold decision to form the MK Party, asserting that leaving a long-standing organization for a "just and revolutionary cause" was a necessary and fearless move.
