Ongoing post-election violence in Mozambique continues to create disruptions, with no resolution in sight. Hundreds of truck drivers are stranded at the Lebombo Border Post as authorities have announced that commercial vehicles will not be permitted to cross into Mozambique until January 15.

The Border Management Authority has clarified that, for now, only pedestrians and small vehicles will be allowed to pass through the border.

The situation has left truckers frustrated, with many expressing concerns about the impact on their livelihoods and the movement of goods. Authorities have not provided further details on whether the restrictions are directly linked to the unrest, which has flared up following contentious election results.

The unrest has raised concerns about regional stability and the economic repercussions for neighboring countries reliant on cross-border trade.
