Durban gun dealer Anderson Padayachee, accused of supplying firearms to the Terrible Josters, one of the Western Cape’s most notorious gangs, returned to the Western Cape High Court to face 66 charges. These include fraud, murder, attempted murder, and participation in a criminal enterprise.

During today’s proceedings, a police officer testified about brand-new firearms allegedly discovered in Padayachee’s car during a stop in Touws River in 2018. Despite this, Padayachee denies being involved in the incident.

The case sheds light on the broader issue of illegal firearms fueling gang violence in the province, with the trial expected to uncover more details about the alleged criminal network. Padayachee remains steadfast in his denial of the charges as the trial continues.
