A sharp rise in missing children cases has sparked alarm in the Eastern Cape, with 11 children aged 6 to 17 reported missing this month alone.

Among the victims was eight-year-old Miguel Baartman, whose body was tragically discovered at Willow Dam in Kariega. His family, friends, and teachers gathered at Winterberg Primary School to honor his memory during an emotional memorial service.

As the festive season approaches, police are urging parents and caregivers to remain vigilant. The increase in disappearances has heightened concerns, prompting calls for enhanced community awareness and safety measures.

Authorities continue to investigate the cases and emphasize the importance of immediate reporting in missing children incidents.
