Eastern Cape police have issued arrest warrants for three suspects allegedly involved in the murder of Mboneli Vesele, a bodyguard for the Vice Chancellor of the University of Fort Hare. Vesele was fatally shot last year while sitting in his vehicle outside the Vice Chancellor's residence.
Police spokesperson Athlenda Mathe stated that authorities believe the suspects may be hiding in the Eastern Cape or KwaZulu-Natal and are urging them to surrender. “We believe these three suspects have information on the motive, the reasons, and those responsible for Mr. Vesele's murder,” said Mathe. "Anyone with information on their whereabouts should contact the investigating officer or their nearest police station."
Police continue to seek public assistance to locate the suspects and resolve this case.
