Police in the Western Cape have arrested a man and woman, aged between 30 and 40, in connection with last month’s murder of “Noem My Skollie” actor David Manuel and his friend, who were fatally shot in Gugulethu on the Cape Flats.
Provincial police spokesperson Wesley Twigg revealed that the investigation, led by Serious and Violent Crime detectives, suggests a possible motive involving life insurance policies taken out by family members. "The investigation revealed that life insurance policies were taken out by family members, which was identified as a possible motive,” Twigg said.
The suspects are scheduled to appear on Thursday, November 14, in the Athlone Magistrate’s Court, where they will face charges of murder and fraud. Twigg also noted that additional arrests may follow as the investigation continues.
