President Cyril Ramaphosa has extended his best wishes to the matric class of 2024 as they begin their final National Senior Certificate (NSC) exams today.

This year, more than 880,000 full-time and part-time candidates across South Africa will sit for the matric exam. Additionally, around 16,000 students from private schools will undertake the Independent Examinations Board (IEB) exams.

In his message, President Ramaphosa acknowledged the challenges of the matric exams but expressed confidence in the students' abilities. "Matric is quite a challenging exam, but I know our matriculants are up to it. You have all been working hard and preparing for the exams, so I wish you the best of luck," Ramaphosa said.

He encouraged the learners to aim for excellence, adding, "Many who have written the exams before you have done well, and I know you will not disappoint. You will also do extremely well. Get those distinctions, get those passes. Good luck!"

The matric exams are a critical milestone for students in South Africa, and the president’s message of support aims to motivate them as they embark on this important phase of their academic journey.
