A female police officer has been arrested in connection with a series of murders carried out to collect insurance payouts. The 43-year-old officer is set to appear in a Polokwane court on Friday morning.

Authorities allege that the officer orchestrated multiple killings, dating back to 2019, with the aim of benefiting from insurance claims. She is accused of listing herself as a beneficiary on the victims' policies and collecting over R10 million in payouts.

The six victims, all known to the officer, reportedly came from disadvantaged backgrounds. Investigators believe the suspect targeted vulnerable individuals for her scheme. Further details are expected to emerge during her court appearance as the case unfolds.
