Two women have come forward to the BBC, accusing controversial social media influencer Andrew Tate of rape and strangulation. Another woman has alleged, for the first time, that she was raped by his younger brother, Tristan Tate. These allegations add to the existing charges the brothers face in Romania, where they are accused of human trafficking and sexual exploitation. Andrew Tate also faces a separate charge of rape in Romania. Both brothers deny all charges.
Andrew Tate is currently under house arrest, with prosecutors also considering new allegations, including sexual relations with a minor. In a recent BBC Panorama episode, two British women not connected to the Romanian case detailed their experiences of rape and violence by Andrew Tate, dating back 10 years. Meanwhile, Tristan Tate faces similar accusations, including rape and strangulation, from a British woman who says she worked for the Tates' webcam business in Romania.
The brothers, who built their fame through social media and a webcamming business, are being investigated for trafficking and exploiting women. The Tates have denied the allegations, but their legal troubles continue to mount, with potential extradition proceedings and a civil case in the UK.
