More than six years after the devastating Listeriosis outbreak, families affected by the tragedy are still seeking justice. Over 200 people lost their lives, and thousands were impacted by the deadly bacteria traced to a Tiger Brands factory.
Among the victims was an 11-year-old boy from Vosloorus, whose family is still grieving the loss. In Tshwane, another family shared that their 9-year-old daughter was diagnosed with meningitis, a complication from the bacterial contamination.
Despite the scale of the outbreak, no one has been held accountable, leaving families frustrated and without closure. Tiger Brands has yet to offer any form of settlement, and with no court date in sight, concerns are growing that compensation may never be provided.
Affected families continue to demand answers, seeking accountability and justice for the lives lost and the suffering endured.
